Without a doubt Las Vegas is attractive to tourists all year long, regardless of weather or season, it is one of the nation’s top vacation destinations. And believe it or not, people actually visit the city for a variety of reasons. Of course some of the top three include various casinos and gambling opportunities as well as tremendous shows that are available throughout the city. And of course there is that population of people who arrive in the city to receive a quick wedding ceremony . Then of course there are those who arrive at the bright idea to get married while they’re already there.

Regardless of why you choose to visit any of the casino resorts and hotels in Las Vegas you are guaranteed to have an amazing time and see some incredible shows.

And while many vacation destinations depend to a large extent in popularity on the weather and have a particular season that is definitely the most popular, this is not the case with this city in Nevada. It receives a large population of visitors in rain or shine, sleet or snow. And while difficult weather situations don’t stop many, if any at all, people from visiting this popular gaming city, it is still nice to know what you can expect while you’re there, which might help with wardrobe packing and possible agenda schedules.

And for this who are interested in the typical weather of Las Vegas at this time of year, it is good to know it’s one of the more temperature moderate cities in the country. The city has recently enjoyed beautiful afternoons in the upper seventies and while the great afternoons are continuing, they are also beginning to heat up. While the current expectations are for upper seventies to lower eighties for highs, later in the month the city can expect to have near ninety-degree highs. And while this might sound hot to some people, the tourists who enjoy a beautiful sunny afternoon by the pool will recommend a quick dip to cool off. Or if you’re more inclined there should be a spot at a poker table or machine waiting for you inside. Oh, and a nice drink or great buffet to round out the picture.

Amsterdam is one of the most popular European vacation destinations for people within the continental countries as well as though from around the world. In addition to the famous architectural elements and historic buildings there are numerous museums in the city that attract most of the people who visit and stay in one of the hotels in Amsterdam . And while visiting a museum may not be the primary reason many people travel to the city, viewing the exhibits and one or more of them is definitely one of the greatest highlights of most trips. The Van Gogh Museum and the Rembrandt House are just two of the great art based museums that are present in the city and visited by people from around the world.

The Van Gogh Museum has the largest collection in the world of Vincent Van Gogh’s drawings and paintings. In addition it features many of the works of his contemporaries and has an impressively extensive permanent collection. The museum opened in 1973 and has been one of Amsterdam’s most popular attractions since that time. The museum’s primary exhibit is a collection of works that covers the artistic life story of Van Gogh. Various works of art cover distinct phases in the artist’s life and career and highlights certain aspects of his childhood through various emotional difficulties and phases in adulthood. One of his three Sunflowers paintings is featured.

The Rembrandt House is another great institution that is dedicated to the work of a great artist. In addition, the museum is located in what was once the home of this great artist. He lived and worked in this historic house for much of his career. He purchased it in 1639 and lived there until 1656, at which time he became bankrupt and all his belongings and works went up for auction. Early in the 20th century the building was turned into a museum and the early collection was based primarily on sketches and touring exhibits and has continued to grow and expand throughout the decades. This is not only a great place to view Rembrandt’s work but also to stand in his footsteps and imagine him working in the same spot.

Whether you are familiar with US stock market or the Toronto stock market, you know that when a company decides to go public it is a big deal. Making the decision to take a company public is a big decision that requires a lot of thought, planning and weighing of all of the options. However once the company executives have made the decision final and submitted the initial offering, there are many benefits both for the company and its shareholders.

One of the biggest benefits for a company, like Transglobe REIT, going public is the additional capital. Unlike private investment, the funds do not need to go through a series of investors. Rather they go straight to the company. While there can be limitations on what the funds can be used for, that is usually outlined in the prospectus and provided in a report to the shareholders. When a company increases its capital it decreases the debt-to-equality ratio and increases its net worth. This will help increase the value of the stocks for the shareholders, as well as help the company stay out of debt. When a company has more capital, they have more opportunities to grow the company and make other investments.

Going public and increasing the capital also increase the company’s ability to hire and retain top employees. While in the past they may not have been able to afford such top ranking employees, they are now able to offer different stock options as a way to help make up the difference in pay. Even lower level employees can be included in these benefits.

Whatever circumstances led to a company deciding to go public, once the decision has been made the only way to go is up. By taking advantage of the many benefits that going public offers, not only will the company be pleased with the results but the shareholders will be pleased as well.

Taking care of a car is one of the most noble things anyone can learn how to do, at least that’s how it seemed in the old days. Today, however, it seems to just make sense. Self-sufficiency in auto care can be a long learning curve, especially with more complex jobs, but it’s also one of the most interesting hobbies that anyone’s ever come up with. There are tremendous advantages to learning how to do it all yourself , and the good news is, you can start any time. Even more good news is that there are plenty of people who will likely be willing to help.

In a car culture as developed as the one we have in the 21st century, there are thousands of people who are devoted to thinking about what makes their engines run. There are countless times when someone stuck on the side of the road will find themselves suddenly flocked to by people who want to help, with nothing to gain except for more experience in working with cars, and the joy of helping someone else. Of course, there are plenty of moments when being stuck might mean being stuck for a long period of time, when no one stops, but that’s when the knowledge really comes in handy.

There are plenty of resources available, and for those who drive pickups of the Mazda variety, a Mazda pickup repair manual can do wonders for taking the mystery out of what makes these run. Repair is never a snap, or at least, it rarely is, but the manual can walk you through every step with ease. For those driving the more family-friendly Plymouth Voyager ,

there’s a manual for that, too, that can help teach you about maintenance, and how to get out of tough spots when the car won’t start and there’s no one around. It becomes second nature to take care of a vehicle, and sometime down the road, you might find yourself hoping that something goes wrong, just so you can have the pleasure of figuring out how to fix it yourself.

If you’re going to San Francisco , yes, we know you’ve heard that before. But still, if you plan to visit this great bay city there are numerous landmarks and historic places to visit. In addition, there are some beautiful parks in the city that offer beautiful scenery and a nice to place to rest. Some of them are also some of the city’s top attractions. In fact, the city is full of great parks and some of them are on or right off the beach while others are fully surrounded by land. Of course there is Alcatraz, which is fully surrounded by water. And yes, there is more to the island than the historic and infamous prison. One thing is certain, whether you want to visit a park to rest and maybe enjoy a picnic or will do so because of the associated landmarks you want to visit, you will definitely encounter at least one of the city’s parks while you are there.

The Aquatic Park Historic District is a complex of buildings that is located in the larger Maritime National Historic Park, which is actually a National Historic Landmark. The Maritime Museum is one of the popular attractions of this park. China Beach is a beautiful little area of the Golden Gate National Recreation Center. It offers some of the most spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the bay and was named after the Chinese fisherman who camped at the breach. Another one of the great attractions in this park is the Japanese Tea Garden that dates back to 1894. This is one of the city’s most popular attractions and the garden and foliage are incredible. Guests can also enjoy tea and shop for gifts at the tea house. This is only the beginning of an exploration of the parks in San Francisco, and it is highly recommended you look into others if you are planning a visit to this beautiful city.

Many people like to consider the weather of the location in which they are considering making a visit to. And while New York is an extremely common tourist destination, the weather in the city can be somewhat unpredictable. And that’s assuming the inquirer is considering only the spring and summer months. Of course there is no telling what you might encounter if you start to wonder about fall and winter as well. However, spring can be absolutely gorgeous in New York though it can still get cold and there’s a good chance for rain and summer is fabulous too, though it can get pretty hot and humid , which creates a stuffy and muggy atmosphere. Does all of this seem like too much to deal with? Well, the answer must be no if you ask the millions of people who visit this great city every year, come rain or snow and have no qualms about the weather in making their decision.

Of course, if you’re planning a picnic in Central Park you may very well want to know the forecast for a particular afternoon. Well, recently the weather has been really nice and if trends continue and look anything like the upcoming week there should be a period of really nice weather. Right now the afternoons are ranging from the upper 60s to the mid 80s. Next Saturday the expected high will be 83 degrees and clear sunny skies are expected. You can bet there will be plenty of people in the park that day. But then it doesn’t have to be a beautiful afternoon to fill Central Park. However, a beautiful sunny afternoon never hurt anyone’s plans, unless of course they wanted to sing in the rain. If that is the case then those people are better off going to the park on Sunday when the chance for showers is pretty good, though the afternoon high is expected to be the same.

The Merkin Concert Hall in New York is one of the city’s great musical performance venues and features a dynamic schedule of various concerts and program events. Most recently the hall featured the Lark Quartet performing a new works by two Pulitzer Prize winning composers. The works were performed during the first half of the concert on the Thursday evening, April 22 and included pianist Jeremy Denk who joined the quartet. They performed the new piano quintet by Paul Moravec’s as well as Jennifer Higdon’s new work. There are so many diverse selections of musical performances and concerts that occur on a nightly basis in this city that it can frequently be difficult for residents to choose which event they want to go to. This dilemma is magnified for the tourist who will only stay in New York for a week or so. However, the upside is that the city, including the Merkin Concert Hall, is never short on performances or entertainment options.

The month of May will also be busy at the Merkin and the hall will feature performances from the New York Festival of Song. This year’s festival will feature some all new works that highlight the diversity and beauty of the human voice. Some of the featured works will include Beautiful Ohio, which is a new song cycle written by Harold Meltzer. Gabriel Kahane’s work Craigslistlieder is an original eight song cycle work that is based on anonymous Craigslist ads. The singers for the festival will include Paul Appleby, Anne Carolyn-Bird and Andrew Garland. Pianists for the songs will be Steven Blier and Michael Barrett. The Merkin Concert Hall is known for its outstanding concerts and for promoting new and original pieces. Some of the most honored musicians, singers and composers are featured at the hall every year. This is just one of the great performance venues in New York.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City is a world renown establishment that is primarily known for its great collection that spans centuries, art genres and cultural perspectives of items. However, the museum is also focused on and greatly contributes to the continued development of new works and artists. Education and research is also a fundamental aspect of the organization. The progressive nature of this seemingly conservative establishment can be found not only among some of its rooms and hung across the walls but also on its ruff top. In fact, many of the hotel guests in some of the near by resorts may be able to see this new installation piece from their balcony windows.

This is just one of the works of art this is currently making the news and getting random attention throughout this great city, though it is also one of the most dynamic and complicated. The piece is titled Big Bambu: You Can’t, You Don’t and You Won’t Stop. The installation is made of bamboo and includes a suspended walkway above the roof. The entire project will last through the end of October and will continue to be worked on until the time it is dismantled. The most report indicated that intricate web of bamboo rose about twenty five feet into the air above the roof of the museum.

The ongoing installation project, conceived and constructed by Doug and Mike Starn , who happen to be identical twins, is anticipated to receive somewhere in the neighborhood of 400,000 viewers, though this projection is somewhat dependent on the weather. Meanwhile, some incredible tours will be offered, though it is important to understand that there is the possibility of experiencing some unexpected and sometimes severe cases of height anxiety and fear. In addition, there may be some physical and health restrictions related to participating in the tours.

For anyone traveling to or from Europe, the volcanic ash cloud that has been covering northern Europe for the last week has been more than just a hassle. It has caused thousands of flights to be rerouted, rescheduled, or cancelled. Many people on both sides of the Atlantic have been stranded with little hope that their flights will be resumed quickly. However, hope came today with announcements from Scotland, Germany, and several other countries that they will be resuming flights early this week, some even today. Though there have been some debates aviation authorities and airline executives who believe the continued hold on flights is unnecessary, everyone will be grateful when things return to normal. The musical Next to Normal was recently announced as the winner of the Pulitzer Prize in drama. This came as a surprise to some people and was also seen as a somewhat controversial move on the part of the Pulitzer Board. This is because the board passed over all three of the official recommendations by the jury which included The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity, by Kristoffer Diaz; In the Next Room, or the vibrator play by Sarah Ruhl, and Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo by Rajiv Joseph.

Tourists who stay in New York may be impressed with the numerous stars that perform in these shows and the number of impressive awards and critical acclaim they receive, though they are frequently unconcerned with the politics of how the award system works.

In the case of the Pulitzer for drama, there have been some recent conflicts between the board and jury, though most of the theatre fans have only accepted the results and also have frequently celebrated them. This is largely due to the standard status quo structure of the award, which typically means that it goes to a mainstream attractive play. And with the case of Next to Normal, the issue seems less to do with the fact that it was this particular show that one, but with the manner in which it did so is what is troubling to some. Some of the controversy is due to the fact it was not part of the original choices of the jury as well as that many of the board members who ultimately chose this show saw it the night before the final vote was made.

Next to Normal is playing at the Booth Theatre on West 45th Street and opened about one year ago on April 15 of 2009. The show is a face paced musical that deals with the crisis faced by one family who is dealing with some mental health issues. The show is a riveting sound and spectacle experience and the stage is structured so that the action takes place on three stories. The set serves as a home, a doctor’s office and also a school. Audiences typically walk away from this show feeling a strong sense of having been entertained as well as exploring various thoughts that were inspired by some of the issues and circumstances that are presented. Meanwhile the music is engaging and the lyrics are smart and memorable.

I don’t watch the news that often; frankly I find it rather depressing.  However, when I was skimming through some stuff online I found this article.  It tells the story of dad, Albert  Snyder, who is suing the Westboro Baptist Church for protesting his Marine son’s funeral.  The group has some extreme beliefs when it comes to war and the causes of death; this is not the first time they have done this.  Regardless of whether or not you believe in the Iraq War, it seems like there should be uncrossable line when it comes to protesting soldiers funerals.

The proceedings have brought into serious debate the extent of our 1st Amendment rights and the results will end up effecting us all sooner or later.

As we venture further into the glory of spring, cities across the nation continue to experience extremes and differing degrees of weather. This aspect of this time of the year is just one of the many reasons people are continually drawn to visit Miami a city that frequently experiences some of the most beautiful weather in the country. This is also just one of the many reasons while spring break in Miami is one of the main annual vacation destinations and for many people has taken on the status of a rite of passage.

The weather in Miami during the spring can typically be extremely beautiful. It doesn’t reach some of the high temperatures that can be found during the summer, though the afternoons are gorgeous and there will still be plenty of sun. Interestingly, it is actually the spring months in Miami that constitute the sunniest days of the year. The temperatures remain mild and the humidity is not very high during this time, which contributes to an almost ideal climate. In addition, it is a time of year when the city is not overly saturated with tourist and winter visitors, though there is that infamous spring break week, it still makes spring a great time to be in Miami.

Although spring sees some of the sunniest days of the year in Miami, this week in particular will experience some possible rain and thunder showers. The temperatures will still reach around 83 degrees on Monday and Tuesday though this is when the city will see its highest chance for showers. Wednesday will also be in the low 80s and see another chance for rain, though not as much as the first two days. Later in the week it will cool down into the high 70s, and the sky should remain partly cloudy with no rain. The temperatures are typical to an April afternoon though generally tourists, residents and any other person in the city can expect nice amounts of sunny afternoons.

The Aintree John Smith Grand National is one of the most expected horse race in the world right now and the date has come upon us far quicker than many of us realized. For those who don’t know, it is a jumping race, which obviously means that obstacles are placed in the way which the horses must jump over. What makes the John Smith Grand National so special is the intricate history it has and feelings it leaves in the national memory.

Of all the races this one has come particularly far from it’s roots and now stands as one of the nation’s favorites. Starting back in 1829 organized by a syndicate, the first race was a flat race won by a horse named Mufti. For a while they had three meetings a year, each time accompanied by almost 40,000 people. It would start significantly changing in 1835 when they added the first stone walls and made their first jump fixtures on the track. Lottery was the first winner of these races, becoming a national favorite as well as sealing the horse race into national memory which allowed for the race track to continue to expand. With the growing popularity, they had to make an expansion and in 1953 another race track was added for jumping races. Feeling prosperous the owners built a motor racing track as well the next year, bringing in more people. They even hosted a number of Grand Prixs because of this expansion.

The good times could not last and the property had to be sold. This caused much turmoil for people nation wide as no one seemed quite sure if the new owner really had is heart in the races like themselves and this feeling never really went away after he tripled the admission price to the largest of the races, the Grand National. When Davies announced he was selling the whole thing, many fans were dismayed but ran to their pocket books when it was suggested that all the fans could put together enough money to save the race course. They did not make it in time, but were bailed out by someone else, who has made a point of restoring the old course back to it’s old recognition as one of the best. It has been successful securing great horses, jockeys and sponsors to keep the sport and the event alive and well in Liverpool.

It is now associated with Red Rum one of the most famous horses to race, being the race that really made him give it his all. With the new walls that have been built it once again stands as the true test of a horse.

The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to make the news on both a local and national basis. They remain the number one team in the NBA’s Eastern Conference and have cinched that status for the finals and are many people’s pick for the playoff favorite. The team has made these kinds of headlines in the past having secured the Conference Championship as recently as in 2007. And while they are currently the most winning team in the NBA, that does not immunize them against an occasional defeat. Most recently they lost to the San Antonio Spurs when they played the Texas team at the Spurs home arena. And while the achievements of the Cavaliers continues to make news across the nation, it is actually a bit more surprising and newsworthy when they have a loss, as their fifty seven win to sixteen loss record indicates the rarity of the event.

It is unlikely that most of the guests who are staying in one of the Cleveland luxury hotels will be fans of the city’s basketball team, though they are certain to have a level of respect for the players and coaching team. Meanwhile, the city itself loves the team enough and the Cavaliers enjoy a tremendous amount of local support. Since 1970 this expansion team has thrilled fans and been a major company of the city’s social atmosphere. Their most recent period of success has been largely attributed to the arrival of LeBron James , who first landed in Cleveland after the 2003 draft. This also ushered in a period of hope and renewed enthusiasm after a decade of losses and struggles. Last year they added the star center Shaquille O’Neal who was traded from the Phoenix Suns. As the playoffs approach, the prospects for the Cavaliers to take the Eastern Conference Championship look increasingly better and they are the top choice for the NBA Championship in many analysts’ pick.
