If you’re going to San Francisco , yes, we know you’ve heard that before. But still, if you plan to visit this great bay city there are numerous landmarks and historic places to visit. In addition, there are some beautiful parks in the city that offer beautiful scenery and a nice to place to rest. Some of them are also some of the city’s top attractions. In fact, the city is full of great parks and some of them are on or right off the beach while others are fully surrounded by land. Of course there is Alcatraz, which is fully surrounded by water. And yes, there is more to the island than the historic and infamous prison. One thing is certain, whether you want to visit a park to rest and maybe enjoy a picnic or will do so because of the associated landmarks you want to visit, you will definitely encounter at least one of the city’s parks while you are there.
The Aquatic Park Historic District is a complex of buildings that is located in the larger Maritime National Historic Park, which is actually a National Historic Landmark. The Maritime Museum is one of the popular attractions of this park. China Beach is a beautiful little area of the Golden Gate National Recreation Center. It offers some of the most spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the bay and was named after the Chinese fisherman who camped at the breach. Another one of the great attractions in this park is the Japanese Tea Garden that dates back to 1894. This is one of the city’s most popular attractions and the garden and foliage are incredible. Guests can also enjoy tea and shop for gifts at the tea house. This is only the beginning of an exploration of the parks in San Francisco, and it is highly recommended you look into others if you are planning a visit to this beautiful city.
