Monterey, California is one of the coastal mecca’s of the state and is well known for being the home of many artists . In addition to all of this great cultural heritage, the city is known for its amazing views and moderate weather. While San Francisco’s summers have been described as the coldest winter a visitor could ever experience, Monterey is a bit less extreme. Currently, the weather looks like it’s going to be a nice, though slightly cool week ahead. And while the temperatures can be mild, the fact that Monterey is a coast town also means that there is generally a high level of humidity. When the ocean breeze blows throw town a large dose of humidity can greatly increase the chilling effects of the wind. This is just a gentle reminder for anyone who thinks that because it’s about two hours south of San Francisco, Monterey doesn’t have the capacity to chill your bones. So, if you plan to visit this coastal town , you will want to bring a coat.

The months of March and April are generally considered to be major transitional months in many areas. April in particular can bring extremely topsy turvy weather patterns and in many areas one day can bare no resemblance to the next. Right now the weather in Monterey looks pretty steady and nice. The days will remain cool and throughout the week the highs should be somewhere in the mid to upper sixties. This is perfect weather for many people, and those on the East coast will think this is extremely warm. The evenings will cool down to the mid and low 40s, which is also pretty mild. The week will begin with mostly sunny skies and no clouds. Later in the week some clouds should develop though for the most part it should remain clear. At this point there are no storms expected through the week in Monterey.
