As a world traveler I surround myself with maps – but not only when I’m traveling.  I refer to maps all day long.  When I am watching a news program about a far off spot I dig out my world maps.  If I’m watching a Canadian nature program I will dig out my map of Alberta.  If I’m watching a cooking show from the Orient I will refer to my map of Asia.  If I’m watching a show about diving in the Caribbean I may look at a map of Aruba or if I am watching how the Amazon rainforest is disappearing at a teriffic rate I may bring out a map of Brazil.

Maps are important to me.  They help to quench my thirst for geographical knowledge.  I’m always looking for ways to increase my knowledge.  And although I am familiar with much of what lies within these maps – there is always something new to discover!
